My Story
Here we go again - more running, more fundraising ! Welcome to my London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 fundraising page for Cosmic. The charity I hope none of you ever need, but will be there if you do.
I will forever be indebted to the NHS & Cosmic for saving Seth's life. A little bit (a lot) of running is the least I can do. This time it's the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 12th April. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support !
My story is below:
On the 19th October 2022 my identical twin boys, Sylvester & Seth, were born. On the 1st of November I took Seth to Whipps Cross A&E as he wasn’t his usual self. In the early hours of the following morning, I was woken by the emergency alarm and a Dr calling for the resus trolley. Seth had stopped breathing. He was wheeled away from me, blue and receiving chest compressions. The Drs saved his life, but he was extremely poorly and had to be intubated and ventilated. Seth was transferred to St Mary’s Hospital PICU for further management.
In total, Seth was in PICU for 3 (very long) weeks, receiving respiratory support while fighting off 3 viruses. While the doctors, nurses and physios did everything to save our son, Cosmic did everything to support my husband and I. Amongst other things, they put us up in their hotel within the hospital, meaning we could be with Seth as much as possible. It was an extremely tough time, given I was two weeks post emergency c section and also had another newborn son, Sylvester, and my one year old daughter, Cecily, to be cared for. I don't know how we would have got through that time without them.
